Tottenham plans to fill Son Heung-min's absence from the 2023 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Cup with a Dane Scarlet.

England's Under-21 striker Scarlett will return to Tottenham from Ipswich Town to compensate for Son Heung-min's absence at the Asian Cup next month, England's Football London reported on the 24th.

Tottenham's current concern is for Son Heung-min to be elected to the Asian Cup. Although the timing of Son's joining the Korean national team has not been confirmed yet, it is a competition that requires mandatory participation. Korea's first Asian Cup match will be against Bahrain on January 15. Currently, Son Heung-min is expected to join the Korean national team after the third round of the FA Cup against Burnley.

If Korea advances to the finals at the Asian Cup, Son Heung-min will have to leave the team for about a month. The absence of Son Heung-min, who has 11 goals and four assists in the league alone, is fatal to Tottenham. Even if Hishalisson is reviving, Son Heung-min is indispensable in the team. There is no player who can fill Son's vacancy right away as Manor Solomon does not know when he will return.

In response, Tottenham plans to let Scarlett return. Ipswich manager Kieran McKenna has already acknowledged. He said, "Talks are currently in progress with Tottenham. In early January, Scarlett seems to have a very good chance of returning. Tottenham currently have injury problems, and they have their main strikers for the Asian Cup."

Scarlett, born in 2004, is a promising player for Tottenham. He had high expectations for his debut in the first division at a young age in the 2020-21 season. However, he was still not good enough to play in the Tottenham first team immediately.

In response, Tottenham Hotspur F.C. sent Scarlets to Portsmouth in the 2022-23 season on loan. Upon moving to Portsmouth, Scarlets were expected to quickly launch a scoring spree and display good performance. However, as the period of time progressively failed to perform as expected, he gave up his position on the starting lineup. Eventually, he only played as a substitute in the second half of the season, and finished the season with six goals and two assists in 40 official matches.

Tottenham Hotspur F.C. sent his team to Ipswich Town, a minor league team, this season to boost Scarlett's growth. However, the team failed to display its presence even in the third division, and thus it was too much for Scarlett to play in the second division. As the team was completely behind in the competition to become a starting pitcher, it failed to play in any single game. It lacked presence even as a substitute. It has no offensive point at all. 스포츠토토

It is unlikely that a prospect who did not perform as well as expected for the second consecutive season will start immediately, but it is questionable whether he will show a good performance even if he gets a chance.
